Our fully equipped commercial-grade kitchen is perfect for creating a hearty meal after a day of exploring! Our amenities include a 6 burner gas stove and oven, microwave, two fridges and a freezer, blender, crock pot, kitchen aid mixer, toaster, coffee machine, full set of pots and pans, glassware, baking sheets, utensils, dinnerware set, cutlery and more. The Ecolodge provides a selection of spices and basic pantry items for your convenience. Our full kitchen is available for guest use on a time sheet that allows for guests to use the space in their pods. Groups that book the full facility are welcome to invite an in house chef to prepare meals, or use meal times as a learning opportunity and group work exercise for school and university students.
We are proud participants of the Surfrider Pacific Rim Ocean Friendly Business Campaign. We encourage you to make use of our equipment and ask that you do not bring disposable plates, cooking trays or single use plastic cutlery into our facility. Our tap water is wonderful and safe to drink, so please bring your own reusable water bottle to refill and view the Ecolodge mission page to understand our sustainability initiatives.
The Ecolodge was built as a field station for research, thus it was designed with two ‘Teacher’s Suites’ which have private bathrooms and the shared bathrooms are used by the Bunk, Twin and Queen Rooms.
The shared bathrooms are clean, bright, and spacious and afford guests with a very comfortable level of privacy. All of our bathrooms feature locally-made, eco-friendly bath products from Sea Wench Naturals. A hairdryer is provided in each bathroom.
All guests receive free admission into the Tofino Botanical Gardens valued at $12 per visitor. We invite you to explore your backyard and learn more about the cultivated plants, local culture and natural environment within the Clayoquot Biosphere Region.
Free high speed wifi is available in all rooms. Guests may use the outdoor fire pit to roast some marshmallows and enjoy the outdoor beauty and star filled sky in Tofino. The lodge has a surf wash and dry station to store surf boards and give your wet suit a chance to warm up indoors, ready for your next surf!
If the owner, George Patterson is not available, a tour may be provided by the General Manager or Horticulturist.
