This pleasant spot lies on the main highway just outside Tofino (it’s not really “hidden” because the entrance sign is quite large). A series of interconnected paths winds around a 12-acre site, filled with sculptures, informative signs and the odd touch of humour. At one end is the ocean and an imposing stretch of mudflats, at the other is the entrance which includes a cafe. There’s a great variety of local and non-local trees and plants, all clearly labelled. Gentle piped music adds to the tranquil atmosphere at the cafe, and there are chickens and goats roaming. It’s tremendously peaceful...

We visited in early February in the pouring rain and it was still beautiful and peaceful. Everything is so green and the camellias were just starting to come out.

Delicious pastries and coffee, also great homemade lunch dishes in a lovely atmosphere. The soup of the day was delicious as was their humus. All the dishes have a healthy vibe. We were so surprised to find this type of individually prepare food at such a venue.

We had driven past the entrance several times and then decided to check it out. Well worth it. The first paths are in the gardens which are located adjacent to the entrance. Then the paths circulate through the woods where there are a number of plantings and all are described with signs. If you are there during low or mid range tide you will have an opportunity to view the mud flats which are most interesting and unique. Included are some funky things such as Tofino man and a VW van. Also is a memorial for the Tsunami in Japan where items that were carried across the Pacific are on display. To top it off there are chickens, a goat and a sheep which are most happy to perform for visitors.

This is a must see place to spend strolling the pathways through the forest, walking the beach, and enjoying the flower, herb, and vegetable gardens. There are wonderful statues throughout, it is also possible to have a spa session. Many of the plants and trees have labels. This is a very good spot to spend a few hours during good weather.
